Erin Hunter is a career prosecutor and lifelong Arkansan who has dedicated her life to seeking justice and protecting families.
With nearly fifteen years of courtroom experience, Erin has prosecuted some of the toughest cases in the state, including sexual assault, child abuse, and violent crime. Her mission has always been clear: to stand up for victims, hold criminals accountable, and keep our communities safe.
Raised on a hog and chicken farm in the small town of Newhope, Erin learned the value of hard work from an early age. Her father is a retired farmer, and her mother rose from humble beginnings to become a senior executive at Weyerhaeuser. From cleaning hog pens to baling hay under the Arkansas sun, Erin grew up understanding grit, responsibility, and the importance of doing your part for the people around you.
Erin earned her political science degree from the University of Arkansas and went on to graduate from the University of Arkansas School of Law. She has served as a deputy prosecutor in multiple counties, was appointed by then-Governor Asa Hutchinson to serve as Prosecuting Attorney for the 9th West Judicial District, and is currently the elected City Attorney for De Queen. Along the way, she has been recognized as a Power Woman by Arkansas Money & Politics and voted Best Attorney in Sevier County by readers of the De Queen Bee.
Her work has always focused on protecting the most vulnerable. Erin has led prosecutions that resulted in life sentences for serial predators and helped improve how sex crimes are handled across the district. She believes justice should be pursued with fairness, determination, and courage and not influenced by politics or personal connections.
Erin lives in De Queen with her husband Stephen, a high school baseball coach and athletic director, and their two children. The family is active in their school and sports communities and Erin is a member of the Newhope Church of Christ. Erin is deeply rooted in the region and committed to restoring public trust and building a safer, more accountable future for all who call southwest Arkansas home.
